Orthopedic Surgeon

Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join 6 orthopedic surgeons in their Joint Replacements Division. The ideal candidate would have Fellowship training in Hip and Knee, Arthroplasty or Adult Reconstruction. Maine Medical Partners – Orthopedics is a multi-disciplinary team of surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and administrative staff committed to providing high quality medical and surgical care to patients of all ages. The Orthopedics practice is comprised of a surgical team of 6 surgeons within the Joint Replacements Division, the leading team within The Joint Replacement Center at Maine Medical Center; 3 Trauma and Fracture Care surgeons who are members of Maine Medical Center’s Level One Trauma Program; and 2 surgeons in the Sports Medicine Program. The Joint Replacement Center at Maine Medical Center is Maine's leader in several advanced surgeries including anterolateral approach for total hip replacement, posterior approach for total hip replacement, minimally invasive total knee replacement as well as traditional knee replacement, and shoulder replacement. A recent Medicare study placed Maine Medical Center (MMC) among the top 1 percent of hospitals in a national survey for its quality of care on both hip and knee replacement surgeries, as measured by patient readmissions and complications. The surgeons at Maine Medical Partners perform more than 2,000 joint replacement surgeries each year, the highest volume of any hospital in Maine. Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary hospital and Level One Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and is an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School. The successful candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be employed by Maine Medical Partners (MMP), a subsidiary of Maine Medical Center and Maine’s largest multi-specialty group. MMP serves the health care needs of patients throughout Maine and Northern New England.
