Vice Chair/Chair of Family Medicine LMU-DCOM Knoxville
The Vice Chair/Chair of Family Medicine (LMU-DCOM-Knoxville) shall be the administrative head of the Family Medicine Department at the Knoxville location and will seek to advance the mission of the University in family medicine programs of study. The Vice Chair/Chair is expected to have appreciation of the teaching mission of the department, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cooperatively and congenially within a diverse academic and clinical environment. Leadership skills and vision for enhancing the academic components of a multi-disciplinary department are essential. The Vice Chair/Chair shall coordinate the family medicine program of study, work in cooperation with the Chair of Family Medicine, and supervise the implementation of the plans and decisions of LMU-DCOMincluding LMU-DCOM approved curriculum. They shall also be held accountable for teaching, clinical duties, and scholarly activity as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the University, the School, and the Department.
*DO degree; *Board Certified in Family Medicine; and *able to be licensed in Tennessee by the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination/Tennessee Medical State Board; *minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical/academic medicine teaching and leadership. Academic rank will be commensurate with training and experience.
