Civilian Staff Physician: Internal Medicine Clinic, Navy Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia
Civilian opportunity for a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician who wants to practice medicine in a setting that emphasizes prevention, wellness, and patient involvement. The Internist will consult with other staff physicians from the various clinics on Base, using their exceptional diagnostic expertise on a wide variety of cases.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Physician who enjoys solving puzzling diagnostic problems, co-managing complex cases and establishing meaningful doctor-patient relationships.
As an Interdisciplinary Team member, you will be assigned a panel of military-insured patients and support staff to include:
- Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants
- Registered Nurse Case Managers
- Licensed Clinical Social Workers
You'll have these in-house services at your disposal to assist treating a diverse Patients population from varied socio-economic backgrounds and global locations:
- Pharmacy & Laboratory
- X-ray and Radiology
- Various Specialty Clinics
Because patient care continuity is vital for your complex and chronic cases, the typical schedule is:
- Full time, 40 hours/week
- Monday through Friday
- Between 0700-1800

- Current unrestricted medical license from any US jurisdiction
- One year of experience in a Internal Medicine setting within the past 2 years
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine from ABIM
- Current BLS & ACLS certification
