The Department of Family and Community Medicine (FCM) in the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) at Michigan State University is seeking a visionary leader to serve as department chair. FCM currently has a vibrant and diverse clinical population at their on-campus facility and is looking to expand their role in health care for the university population and the mid-Michigan community by dramatically increasing the size of their faculty practice.
We are a contributor to the college’s curriculum for students in all four years of their undergraduate medical education. We are working toward adding our family practice perspective to all courses at MSU COM in innovative ways and are interested in finding a leader in medical education to help us with this initiative.
The department has a growing research division which is led by a funded PhD researcher who has published multiple papers on aging and has large outreach projects including a new fee-for-service line. We are looking to advance our research in aging as well as other topics across the continuum of Family Practice.
The position will be a full-time position with 30% clinical and 15% academic, 5% scholarly, 50% administrative as indicated. A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.
