About VA Boston Healthcare System

VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) serves veterans by delivering timely quality care to our veteran patients from our staff who demonstrates outstanding customer service, are involved in advanced healthcare research, and provide acute training for tomorrow’s health care providers. VABHS’s consolidated facility consists of the Jamaica Plain, MA campus, located in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical Community; the West Roxbury, MA campus, located on the Dedham line; and the Brockton, MA campus, located 20 miles south of Boston. In addition to our main facilities in Brockton, Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury, we offer services in five community-based outpatient clinics. These clinics are located in Boston (Causeway Street), Framingham, Lowell, Plymouth, and Quincy, MA.

VA Boston Healthcare System is the major tertiary referral center for veterans throughout New England, the largest recipient of VA research funds in the nation, and is strongly affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine and its six Schools of Nursing, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Mass. General Hospital, Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Center.

VABHS is well known for our high scores in patient satisfaction. We strive to hire only the best! Working with and for America’s veterans is a privilege, and we pride ourselves on the quality of care we provide. Healthcare providers are drawn to VA because of its noble mission, the work-life balance it affords, and the superior federal benefits it offers. These benefits, unmatched in the private sector, include regular pay increases, 36-49 days paid time off, traditional pension, 401(k)-type plan with matching contributions, wide array of health, dental, and vision insurance plans with premiums partially subsidized, flexible spending accounts, and the requirement for only a single license from any U.S. state or territory for clinical positions, just to name a few. The best benefit of working at VA is caring for American Heroes, both men and women, who have “Borne the Battle”, for our Nation and have given us the greatest gift our freedom.

VABHS is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
