Spectrum Health System, a not-for-profit, integrated health system, is committed to improving the health & wellness of our communities. We live our mission every day with 31,000 compassionate professionals, 4,600 medical staff experts, 3,300 committed volunteers and an award-winning health plan serving 1 million members. Based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, our talented physicians, and caregivers offer the full continuum of care & wellness services to our communities through 14 hospitals, including Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Spectrum Health Lakeland, 150 ambulatory sites and telehealth offerings.

Spectrum Health Hospital Group

Our hospital group includes the Spectrum Health Medical Center in downtown Grand Rapids, where we offer the regions’ only Level I Trauma Center and the region’s largest children’s hospital, along with many other medical specialty and subspecialty services. In addition, the Spectrum Health Hospital Group includes eight community hospitals, as well as outpatient care, through ambulatory surgery centers, laboratories, occupational health, radiology, rehabilitation and sports medicine, sleep centers and urgent care. The Hospital Group also includes Spectrum Health Continuing Care, the region’s largest provider of rehabilitative, skilled nursing, long-term acute, home and residential care.

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH) is a free standing state-of-the-art, 236-bed dedicated children’s hospital located on the main campus of Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI.  The children’s hospital cares for a multitude of kids and families in over 50 pediatric subspecialties. HDVCH has one of the nation’s largest Level 4 NICU’s (108-beds).  Annually, there are 8800 inpatients, 124,600 ambulatory visits and 10,000 surgery cases, as well as over 55,000 children seen in the Pediatric Emergency Department (Level 1 Trauma rated).  A separate pediatric sedation procedure unit is also one of the largest in the country.  The HDVCH tower building is just eight years old and the adjacent Pediatric Outpatient Center is easily accessible.  HDVCH is the primary academic partner of Michigan State University.
