New Physician Center in 2022!

PHYSICIAN CENTER—Designed by King + King Architects, Rome Health’s new Physician Center will provide enhanced access and convenience for patients with primary care, specialty physicians, comprehensive diagnostic testing, lab tests and pharmacy services all available in one location. Construction is expected to start in August 2021 and be complete by June 2022.

As Rome Memorial Hospital adopts Rome Health as its new name, the healthcare system is preparing to embark upon a $13.1 million capital project to create a new Physician Center on its main campus at 1500 N. James St., Rome.

Primary and specialty care clinics are currently scattered across multiple locations within two miles of the hospital. “Bringing them together on the hospital’s main campus will provide greater convenience for patients with the proximity of diagnostic testing and pharmacy in a single location,” President/Chief Executive Officer Mark Murphy said.
“The new Physician Center will provide one stop for your care for enhanced access and convenience,” Murphy emphasized. “Primary care and specialty physicians, comprehensive diagnostic testing, lab tests and pharmacy services will all be available in one location.”
“Many patients who are elderly or disabled often have difficulty when they have to go to multiple locations for care. We want to make it easier for them to get the care that they need so they don’t delay or miss important tests or treatments,” Murphy said.
Pending state approval, Rome Health expects to begin construction in August 2021, with the new Physician Center opening in June 2022.

EASILY ACCESSIBLE
Patients will find the new Rome Health Physician Center easy to navigate from the moment they enter from the Oak Street parking lot. The project involves renovating existing administrative space on the ground floor and first floor of the hospital and finishing the open space under the Bartlett Wing, which faces Black River Boulevard.

The project involves renovating existing administrative space on the ground floor and first floor and finishing the open space under the Bartlett Wing, which faces Black River Boulevard. Rome Health has engaged King + King Architects and the Hayner Hoyt Corporation to design and construct a center that is easily accessible and easy to navigate from the moment patients enter from the Oak Street parking lot.

When complete in June 2022, providers from the hospital’s affiliated practices will relocate to the new center. These include primary care providers from Rome Medical Group and Delta Medical, as well as many of the specialists from Rome Medical Practice.

Rome Health is preparing to welcome many new primary care providers and physician specialists to the community, including two new general surgeons and a cardiologist. “The new Physician Center will further enhance our recruiting efforts as we expand accessibility to the best clinicians here at Rome Health,” Murphy said.

CARE PODS—Within the Rome Health Physician Center, primary care and specialists will be arranged in pods of six-exam rooms, surrounded by their care teams to coordinate care for patients seamlessly.
