Founded in 1905, Loma Linda University and Medical Center serves the Seventh-day Adventist Church in its mission "to make man whole" physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. The global purpose of the organization is to continue Jesus Christ’s healing and teaching ministry. This is accomplished through education of health-care professionals, scholars, and scientists, through delivery of health care, and through research. 

Loma Linda University’s Medical Center and Children’s Hospital is the only Level I Trauma Center serving a four county area that covers approximately 25 percent of the state. The Medical Center and Children’s Hospital are equipped with over 850 licensed beds. The Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is one of the largest and most advanced neonatal centers in the world, with 84 beds and 22,000 square feet dedicated to caring for some of our smallest patients. 

Strategically located in the center of Southern California in an area known as the “Inland Empire”—one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States with a population of over 4 million and growing.
