Great Plains Health is a progressive health system located in North Platte serving a 18-county region of Nebraska, northern Kansas and southern South Dakota.  Our primary and secondary service area spans approximately 16,000 square miles and 120,000 people.  Great Plains Health is a not-for-profit, independent, community-owned regional medical center, including a level III trauma center with a fully certified emergency room physician staff.  Our system has nearly 1,100 employees and approximately 130 volunteers. 

With 90 physicians representing nearly 30 medical specialties, Great Plains Health offers advanced health care, including heart and vascular, cancer and orthopedic surgery services.  Great Plains Health is accredited by the Joint Commission and is home to an American College of Surgeons accredited cancer center and level 2 bariatric surgery program.  The hospital has served as a major training facility for numerous post-secondary and professional students in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, allied health sciences, and the human sciences.
