Edward-Elmhurst Health has been named one of the nation’s 15 Top Health Systems by IBM Watson Health three years in a row (2019-2021). The system has annual revenues of more than $1.5 billion, more than 50 locations across an area that serves 1.7 million residents, nearly 8,500 employees, including 1,900 nurses with 2,000 physicians on staff, plus 1,200 volunteers.

In January 2022, NorthShore University HealthSystem and Edward-Elmhurst Health merged to create a fully integrated healthcare delivery system committed to providing access to quality, vibrant, community-connected care, serving an area of more than 4.2 million residents across six northeast Illinois counties. The partnership creates the third largest health system, with total revenue expected to exceed $5 billion in the first year of operation, and the second largest physician network in Illinois.
