About Department of Navy - Bureau of Medicine

Overview
You don’t have to join the military to provide medical care to the men and women who serve our Nation.

We are…Civilian Physicians, Dentists, Pharmacists, Social Workers, Clinical Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational and Physical Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and many other professional and allied health care professionals dedicated to providing high quality, economical health care to approximately 700,000 active duty Navy and Marine Corps members, as well as 2.6 million retired and family members.

Our Philosophy…Treat the patient and care for the entire family. Our focus is on providing patient- and family-centered care using a multi-disciplinary approach to provide total health care services…not processing insurance paperwork.

We work…In more than 40 locations in major naval medical centers, teaching and training hospitals, community hospitals, and clinics, including wonderful opportunities to live and work overseas like Japan and Europe.
