Carolina OBGYN

Carolina OB/GYN was founded in 1988 by Dr. Gayle Richmond, the first female OB/GYN in both Horry and Georgetown Counties and the third female physician to join Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

From its early beginnings in a small building next to Georgetown Memorial Hospital, the practice has grown to include three locations staffed by six female board-certified physicians and three certified nurse midwives. While many things have changed since 1988, Carolina OB/GYN’s philosophy of ‘Compassionate Care for Women by Women’ remains constant.
