Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, the region’s only Level I Trauma Center (with Lifeguard emergency transport helicopters) and neonatal and pediatric intensive care units is one of the largest hospitals in the state of Virginia, a 703-bed facility located in Roanoke, Virginia. Virginia Tech and Carilion Clinic brought together the power of research, innovation and medicine to create the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and the Fralin Biomedical Institute, which opened in August 2010.
