The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Meridian, opened its doors in July of 2018 as the first and only medical school in the state of Idaho. Prior to ICOM’s establishment, Idaho was the most populous state in the U.S. without a medical school of its own. The mission of ICOM — a private, for-profit school — is to train osteopathic physicians prepared for caring for persons in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and beyond.
